Contract Extraction
At Melita Honey, we have over 10 years of extraction experience. Our extraction facility has the capability to extract up to 30,000 boxes during our session. Every step of the process is documented and tracked. From when you drop off your honey, right the way through until it is drummed off and tested. Each step is entered into our secure in-house honey management software enabling total transparency and accountability to our beekeepers. Your information is kept private and confidential and our goal is to always provide you with the very best service standards.
We (NZHG?) ha(s)ve over 15 years’ experience of providing Contract Packing services. We have partnerships with the finest brands in France, Germany and China, and have supplied our services to over 50 clients in 16 global markets but we also assist local NZ entities with a range of packing solutions
Our state-of-the-art facility has the ability to pack and label both creamed and liquid honey.
Our modern processing facilities position us as a leader in third party honey extraction. Our new Hastings double extraction plant is strategic asset, underpinning our growth plans. It is one of the largest and most efficient facilities of its type in the country, and can cater for up to 30,000 hives annually, with future capacity to grow to 100,000 hives, enabling contract packing, contract processing, storage and transport efficiencies. It is located in close proximity to Napier Port and within easy travelling distance of major domestic markets. We also have a second, brand new extraction plant in Rotorua.

FAQs
Upon acceptance of our purchase offer the company has 14 days in which to pay you in full into your nominated bank account or as otherwise agreed. Generally payment is made within a couple of days.
The free for use is only if the items are returned in the same condition. If they are damaged or not returned at all then they are charged to you at the rate outlined in your extraction agreement. These items are to be signed in and out of the facility each time they are removed and returned.
All of our testing is undertaken by an independent laboratory (Analytica Labs in Hamilton). A sample of each batch is taken mid flow during drumming and is sent off for analysis. We always take 2 samples, in the case that the first sample is compromised.
Testing allows you to be paid fair market value for your honey. Some tests are required by MPI to be able to sell your honey. For more information about your tests please speak to us directly.
